Based in Southland, New Zealand, Southland Drone Services Ltd delivers precision aerial spraying, seeding, fertiliser spreading, mapping and roof cleaning across Southland and Otago — for farmers, land managers and homeowners alike.

Gorse and forestry spraying are at the core of what we do. We specialise in tackling steep, dense, and hard-to-reach terrain that ground machinery and conventional methods simply can't handle — getting results where others can't go.

We also map blocks from the air and build prescription maps from the imagery, so spot treatments hit only what needs treating — less chemical, lower cost, and a clear record of where it went.

PASTURE SPRAYING

Targeted weed control and fertiliser application across pasture land. Consistent coverage at precise application rates with minimal waste.

CROP SPRAYING

GPS-guided precision spraying for grain crops, vegetables and speciality crops. Accurate application every time, with full job records provided.

SPOT SPRAYING

Targeted treatment of gorse, thistles, rushes, and other problem weeds. We work from prescription maps built off our own aerial survey, so the drone treats only what needs treating — less chemical, lower cost, and a record of exactly where it went.

HILL COUNTRY & FORESTRY

Gorse control, forestry spraying, and weed management on steep, rough, and remote terrain. We go where tractors can't — safely, efficiently, and without damaging the land.

AERIAL SEEDING

Broadcast seeding of pasture, cover crops and revegetation species across hard-to-reach areas. Ideal for establishing new growth on steep or difficult terrain.

FERTILISER SPREADING

Precision aerial spreading of granular fertilisers and trace elements at rates up to 200kg/ha. Even distribution with no soil compaction — perfect for wet-season applications.

MAPPING

Aerial survey and mapping of blocks, paddocks and problem areas. We turn the imagery into prescription maps that drive targeted spot treatments — so you spray the weeds, not the whole block. Accurate areas for quoting, and a clear before-and-after record.

ROOF CLEANING

Moss and lichen treatment applied by drone — houses, sheds, farm buildings and commercial roofs. No ladders, no scaffolding, nobody up on the roof. Safer, faster, and no heavy gear anywhere near your spouting or tiles.
